Industrial Designer
Hella Jongerius studied design at the Design Academy Eindhoven in the Netherlands from 1988 to 1983. After obtaining her undergraduate degree, she quickly working on a couple of projects at Droog Design. Within a year pf graduating, she opened her own studio in Rotterdam where she shifted her focus to furniture and textile design. Many of her designs have a focal point on making opposites attract. For example, combining something technology based with something handmade. Her work is known to be very textured and chooses to work with textiles.
